Alabama delays new $490,000 contract with Tutwiler Prison inmate safety consultant

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- The Alabama Department of Corrections put on hold a new contract with a consulting firm helping improve inmate safety at Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women.

The state would have paid The Moss Group $489,206 through Sept. 30, 2016, for additional work similar to what it is already doing for the prison system.
