Alabama prison officials weigh in on a busy 2014

It's been a busy year for Alabama's overcrowded, underfunded, and budget-draining prison system.

The U.S. Department of Justice kicked off 2014 with a letter to Alabama prison officials that assailed the "toxic sexualized culture" at Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women. The year ended with the state's Prison Reform Task Force eying a set of reform bills to present to the State Legislature in the new year.
