Alabama Department of Corrections holds training for law enforcement on investigating sexual abuse in prisons and jails

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- More than 70 law enforcement personnel from Alabama, Florida and Tennessee underwent training this week on how to properly conduct sexual abuse investigations in prisons and jails.

The Alabama Department of Corrections & Training Force USA collaborated to host the course called Prison Rape & Sex Assault Investigations Inside Correctional Facilities, which took place Wednesday. The course was developed based on the Prison Rape Elimination Act, which requires investigators to receive specialized training on sex abuse investigations in confined settings.
