County Court inspects jail

VALE — Malheur County Court discussed the Prison Rape Elimination Act and full-time nursing staff as it toured the Malheur County Jail Wednesday morning for its annual jail inspection.

County Commissioners Larry Wilson, Don Hodge and Judge Dan Joyce asked questions and inspected jail cleanliness and procedures during a tour given by Sheriff Brian Wolfe and Jail Commander Lt. Rachel Reyna. The group was taken through nearly every area of the jail, including the outdoor recreation area, the laundry room, the kitchen, the control room and the dispatch center.
