Defense attorneys begin questioning Tavon White

BALTIMORE, WBAL — The prosecution's key witness in the jail corruption trial testified Wednesday that prison officials asked for his help in reducing violence at the Baltimore City Detention Center.

Tavon White said he was allowed to pretty much run the place as he pleased. Defense attorneys began questioning White on Wednesday. Attorney Anthony Martin asked about White's plea agreement, asking if White agreed to cooperate with the government to get out of a mess. White replied, "Yes," and that he agreed to tell the truth.
