Power Hour: Chat with an Expert Standard 115.81
During this webinar, we cover PREA Standard 115.81 Medical and mental health screenings; history of sexual abuse. The purpose of this standard is to require a facility to timely address any medical, mental health, or security needs concerning inmates who have experienced or perpetrated prior sexual abuse, either in a confinement setting or in the community. Identifying and offering treatment to inmates with prior victimization is intended to address immediate mental health needs. Identifying and offering a follow-up meeting with a mental health practitioner to prior abusers has the potential to reduce future incidents of sexual abuse and create an improved overall sense of safety within a facility.
We encourage you to invite your colleagues to join the discussion and use it as an opportunity for ongoing education. Our featured presenters are Teresa Stroud, Senior Program Manager (PRC), and Monica DiGiandomenico, Senior Program Specialist (PRC).
