Michele currently works for the Montana Department of Justice. Michele was the PREA Coordinator for the Montana Department of Corrections from 2017-2024. She has facilitated training on numerous PREA-related topics, behavior management techniques, and conducting urinalysis drug testing. She conducted PREA administrative investigation training for state and county corrections employees. She was previously MT DOC's Policy Manager, with responsibilities including policy development, coordinating the department drug testing program, and conducting internal audits. Prior to working for Montana DOC she was a supervisor at a state-operated residential facility for adjudicated delinquent females. Michele holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and psychology.
Dr. Valerie Wolfe Mahfood has served with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 30 years as a correctional officer, offender grievance investigator, and currently within the Access to Courts program. She is a primary member of the Safe Prison and Extortion Teams. In this, she routinely investigates allegations of staff misconduct, offender extortion, gang activity, physical assault, and sexual abuse. Along with a doctorate in criminal justice, Valerie also has doctorate in organizational development and change, as well as a master's in business administration.
